Prognostic Value of Resting Heart Rate on Cardiovascular and Renal Outcomes in Type 2 Diabetic Patients A competing risk analysis in a prospective cohort

چکیده
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODSdWe performed a single-center, prospective analysis in 1,088 T2D patients. RHR was determined at baseline by electrocardiogram. The primary outcome was a composite criterion of CV and renal morbi-mortality (CV death, nonfatal myocardial infarction and/or stroke, hospitalization for heart failure, renal replacement therapy), which was adjusted for death from non-CV cause as a competing event. The secondary outcome was a renal composite criterion (renal replacement therapy or doubling of baseline serum creatinine) adjusted for all-cause death as a competing event.

Prognostic Value of Resting Heart Rate on Cardiovascular and Renal Outcomes in Type 2 Diabetic Patients
OBJECTIVE Epidemiological studies and randomized clinical trials have demonstrated in various populations that resting heart rate (RHR) was an independent predictor of cardiovascular (CV) risk and all-cause mortality. However, few data specifically evaluated the relationship between RHR and long-term CV and renal complications in a large population of type 2 diabetic (T2D) patients. RESEARCH ...
متن کاملPrognostic Impact of Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction Risk Index on Hospitalization Mortality of Patient with Acute Pulmonary Embolism
Introduction: Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is one of the deadly cardiovascular diseases. One of the indexes proposed in these patients for risk stratification is the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) risk index (TRI), which includes three parameters of systolic blood pressure, age, and heart rate. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of TRI on in-hospit...
متن کاملResting Heart Rate Does Not Predict Cardiovascular and Renal Outcomes in Type 2 Diabetic Patients
Elevated resting heart rate (RHR) has been associated with increased risk of mortality and cardiovascular events. Limited data are available so far in type 2 diabetic (T2DM) subjects with no study focusing on progressive renal decline specifically. Aims of our study were to verify RHR as a simple and reliable predictor of adverse disease outcomes in T2DM patients. A total of 421 T2DM patients w...
متن کاملEffect of Combined Exercise Training on Heart Rate Variability and Aerobic Capacity of Boys with Type 1 Diabetes
Background and Objective: Dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system can cause cardiovascular complications in patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The present study aimed to investigate the effect of combined exercise training on heart rate variability (HRV-5min), aerobic capacity (VO2max), and glycemic index in boys with T1D. Materials and Methods: In this semi-experimental research, 24 ado...
متن کاملComparison of Risk Factors Prevalence, Type of Therapy and Mortality Due to Myocardial Infarction in Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Elderly: Results from Cohort Study
Objectives: Elder Myocardial infarction diabetic patients are vulnerable, considering the importance of this issue, our aim in this study was to compare the prevalence of risk factors, type of reperfusion therapy and mortality of elderly MI patients in diabetic and non-diabetic groups. Methods: The present study is a cohort and its participants included 1460 elderly patients who were admitted ...
